Matias Vargas is a 6 y/o bilingual child with an extra chromosome. At school and home, he listens to a mixture of Spanish and English all day, responding with sign language or one of his 9 words; da, ga, grumpa, gramma, ya, nah, mama, papa and the favorite...banana. 

He moves through life in complete joy, influencing everyone around him - including his blended family. This short documentary aims to present the realities of having a family member with Down syndrome. That reality includes siblings that grow up quick, endless appointments, paying for extra therapies and often confronting your own culture's biases, as Matias' father Arturo did. 

Simply put, it's a love story. A film about a little boy who lives life so authentically, you cannot help but inspect your own way of living as a result. Matias Vargas is Downright Perfect.
